10 million reasons to qualify for the World Series of Poker

Aided by the growth in online poker playing, poker’s monumental surge in popularity shows no sign of decline. The projected first prize of this year’s World Series of Poker is $10,000,000, by far the largest payday in gaming or sports of any kind.
Joseph Hatchem, last year’s winner collected $7.5 million. Tournament directors are confident this year will attract even more players, hence the pay increase.
