$4.3 Million Guaranteed at Paddy Poker 2008 Irish Open

One of Europe’s elite and oldest live tournaments, the 27th Annual Paddy Poker Irish Open is looking to make 2008 its biggest year yet by announcing a stunning $4.3 million guaranteed prize pool.

The event is set to take place from the 19th - 24th of March 2008 at the Citywest Hotel, Leisure and Golf Resort in Dublin, Ireland, a venue that can accommodate 1,000 players.

This is an event that has been attracting great names from the USA and the rest of the world. 708 players participated in the event last year, with notable players being Mike Sexton, Phil Laak, Jennifer Tilly, Antonio Esfandiari as well as Roland De Wolfe and Sorel Mizzi who finished second and third place respectively. Marty Smyth, a local Irish player took first prize and almost $868,000.
