Portuguese Blogger Wins $40,000 Poker Stars Freeroll

On Sunday the 14th of October, a Portuguese blogger was the winner of the Poker Stars World Blogger Championship of Online Poker (WBCOOP).
This was the third bloggers tournament sponsored by Poker Stars in which they show their appreciation to players who blog on the internet.
A big crowd of 1,337 players participated at the online event which saw players from the USA, UK, Greece, Brazil, France Norway and Portugal reach the final table.
The event was won by a blogger under the alias LParreira who won a $12,000 Poker Stars Caribbean Adventure package which is to take place from the
4th – 11th of January 2008 at the Atlantis Resort and Casino in the Bahamas’ Paradise Island.
The $40,000 prize pool also included a 50 inch plasma TV, tickets to big buy-in events, poker tables, chip sets and computer monitors.
In order to participate in this year’s tournament bloggers had to advertise the WBCOOP to their blogs and then a Poker Stars employee had to verify that the promotion was running at least two months prior to the start of the of the tournament.
