Weekend In Review – FTOPS VIII Crashes Competition

14th May, 2008

With two events from the Full Tilt Online Poker Series VIII taking place on Sunday, most of the other flagship tournaments took a beating.

The PokerStars Sunday Million fell below the 7,000 player mark to 6,856. That marks ones of the lowest turnouts for the event with the prize pool still reaching a very healthy $1,371,200.

Heads-up action between PKerBL and AQUA RAIDER ended up with the former crashing his opponent to collect $193,339 for first place prize.

The UltimateBet $200,000 Guaranteed Tournament attracted a low 772 players, down from 828 the previous week, for a layover worth a big $45,600 to match its guarantee. That is almost equivalent to first place prize.

Wizards-Bet managed to work his magic over chicagocards1 to take home the winner’s cheque worth $46,000. Runner up player collected $28,000 for his efforts.

Another event to hemorrhage over 100 players, week to week was the $100,000 Guaranteed Tournament over at Bodog.

The 646 entrants that showed up on Sunday created an overlay of $35,400. The last two players to duke it out was BadReception and mattboom with the latter getting a better reception to win $23,600 for his victory. Mattboom collected $13,600 for his efforts.
